TIMOTHY J MARK
is the author of an exciting first novel called CHUSAN which describes the adventures in India of an Anglican priest who is also a British
secret agent. This was published in June
2000. LETTERS TO THE CONTEMPORARY CHURCH was published in October 2005.
- was
married to Lorna, who until she retired was a specialist teacher of
children with special educational needs. Lorna died on July 27th
2000 after a long and
courageous fight against breast cancer. She was 47. They have two
children, Kathryn who is a primary school teacher and married to Daniel,
and Richard who is a musician and actor in London.
- worked in the Church of South India from 1959 to 1969 where he was ordained
- taught religious education in a comprehensive school in Harlow, Essex from 1970 to 1973.
- lectured in philosophy of education, educational psychology, and religious
studies at Doncaster College where before retiring in March 2000 he was the acting Dean of the
Faculty of Business and Professional Studies.
- his
interests include theology, philosophy, education, politics, astronomy,
writing and cycling.
- he
is presently the Education Officer of the Sheffield District of the Methodist Church, a joint honorary secretary of the Danum Social and Literary
Society, and an active member of the Doncaster Astronomical Society.
