was married to Lorna, who until she retired was a specialist teacher of children with special educational needs. Lorna died on July 27th 2000 after a long and courageous fight against breast cancer. She was 47. They have two children, Kathryn who is a primary school teacher, and Richard who is a musician and actor in Bristol.
